Why you shouldn't breed white boxers:

I have been told on numerous occasions and seen on numerous websites that they are also prone to allergies, skin problems, heart defects and failure to thrive.

I had a deaf Dalmatian/Aussie mix I got from the shelter. He just died not too long ago, he was about 13. He was the best dog ever. He also learned hand signals. He looked just like a dalmatian only he had big blue merle spots with the blue eyes.

It is really sickening that ppl will breed boxers to get the white and then euthanize if the dog turns out to be deaf.

I have always said, "the more I know people, the more I love my dog!" and of course this one too "I prefer the company of my dog to most people I know."

Also, you shouldnt breed a dapple or double dapple doxie to another with any white in them or any history of white in them or their off spring. It's a big chance you will end up with blind/deaf/deformed/dead pups.

No offense, but I would rather buy a boxer (or any dog breed really) from someone who is a 'backyard breeder' than from a real breeder any time. By backyard breeders I don't mean puppy mills either...and many breeders are well on the border of being a puppy mill:>) I like buying from people who have a dog or maybe two, and they breed fro fun. Those genetics are often much better than a breeders...who breeds back to parents and grandparents for the 'line'
I am an owner of boxers. Have had 4 so far. The best one I had came from a backyard breeder. She was a gem, with impeccable health and personality. The ones from the breeders are far more hyper and much harder to train.

The pounds and shelters are full of good dogs with not so good pedigrees. Why buy or breed one of these when you can adopt and save a life?

good to know there are at least SOME people that agree with me. SOOOOO many people say "if I can find them all good homes than its ok to beed them".

thats not exactly correct, you shouldnt breed dapple to dapple/DD as the merle gene may double up and cause problems, doesnt mean it always does, but it is ok to breed dapple to piebald as they are two totally different genes causeing the coat pattern and they wont effect each other.

I should ad that if you are breeding merle/dapple dogs, you should learn how to tell the difference between a dapple/merle and piebald before you start breeding.
