Hello all I have a female blue Swedish duck she laid 9 eggs and stopped does anyone know if she will lay again

If she laid 9 in a pile it could be that shes waiting for them to hatch

They lay till they have enough to start sitting on them and stop laying more

Some of my ducks will lay about that many then sit, some will lay more later, and some will just stop laying. How old is your duck?

I was told the duck was a year old she laid them then sat for about a week then never returned to them my ducks are in a penned in area I can’t them loose I have a couple of dogs that would harm them

Bow long has she been off the eggs? . I know with chickens it can take at least the same amount of time they there sitting to start laying again or longer. And they longer they don't the longer it can take to return to laying.

I've had a couple of mine sit for a couple of weeks then stop. One thing that will make them stop sitting are mites and lice, so check you might wanna check you coop and birds for them.
