I opened the egg carton today and on one of our eggs were a couple of patches of tiny eggs about the size of a carrot seed. The patches were dime to nickel size. The color of these tiny egglike things are close to that of the shell wich is light brown. I'm wondering if anyone out there in chicken land knows what this might be. The egg does seem a bit lighter in color than the rest of our light brown eggs. I posted a pick on my profile of the egg. Thanks chicken peeps.

To me it looks like excess calcification that was laid down on the completed egg in the 'egg assembly line'.

I get eggs like that too, just extra calcification, doesn't hurt anything.
