My 2 daughters have 3o little chicks for a 4H project. They have only named one. His or her name is "Pecker"! Funny thing is they know exactly which one it is. LOL!

I have an American Game hen named Wal Mart. She got that name because we found her in the Wal Mart parking lot. We were driving out and she just waltzed across the road in front of us looking all bedraggled.

I jumped out and the hubby and I spent about 20 minutes chasing her around the parking lot before she crammed herself up into the undercarriage of an SUV and I was able to shimmy under there and pull her out.

A couple of weeks later I mentioned it to one of the cashiers and they told me that nobody else had been able to catch her, even the local police department had come out to try and had been unsuccessful!

She was a little worse for wear and missing a LOT of her feathers, but she is happily living with my flock at home and has been one of my best layers!

I have a splash orpington named "Washmi" -- my nephew named her - thought her dark spots on the white meant she was dirty... I suppose I chould have spelled it "Washme" - but I thought "Washmi" classed it up..

I have a Rhode Island Red who was a former battery hen, complete with the bad "nose job". She was constantly sneaking up on & picking at the other chickens, not violently just annoying like. I'm sure this was a bad habit she developed from where she came from. She was the first to warm up to me & always comes out of no where when treats are given out. My son & I named her "The Shark" because you can almost hear the theme to "Jaws" playing when she is sneaking up on someone. My son always threatens to take her up to college with him when he leaves.

Turk Von Turkenstein - because he was really ugly.
Twinkie - Male runner duck, because he liked boy ducks (he changed his mind once he matured)
Helena Bonham Carter - Polish hen because of her wild hair do, looks like Beletrix Le Strange, Helen's character in the Potter series.
Luau - because his best friend is Loui,, you know Loui Luau,, yeah.
Little Foots - because he is tiny little feet under a bunch of feathers
Flat Top McNuggets - Turken roo who had a funny flat head and little "nuggets" stuck to his bum all the time.
Tevye - after Steven's favorite Fiddler on the Roof character
Did I mention Steven names most of the animals?
There is more,, but that's enough

I don't name my chickens, I think it is silly and will save naming chickens for the women and children.
