wiggles in the shell

this is day 13 I candled all my eggs 6 i can see wiggling babies and on from my chicken still too soon. next weekend will be so exciting. This my first hatch. my friend gave me these eggs one is americauna, one is coo coo maran the others just mutts.

So sad tonight, i had forgotten one of my eggs was weak it had a smal crack in it, while checking it before lock down it I crushed in my hand and the baby inside was lost. I have only myself to blame, wishing it had been an empty egg, but NO it was a chick darn the luck. I'm not touching another egg except to gently turn until day 18.

Wow, I'm so sorry about the chick. These things do happen sometimes, though. At least you will be super crazy careful with eggs from now on, right? I accidentally broke an egg when candling as well once. Luckily, there was no development in it. But I'm still super careful and paranoid about breaking them now.

Good luck with the others! And don't beat yourself up! We're only human.
