So I've raised orphaned birds many a time seeing as where we live there is no nearby rescue or vet for such things but today I found an oddball, I don't know what species! I assume either towhee or grosbeak as I live in Northwest WA and those do live on our property. Found the feathers of another of these babies or possibly a parent 3 days ago so I suspect either they were discovered by rats or squirrels and have been picked of or they just have awful luck. Either way it's a tiny pitbull(legit hangs onto my finger like it's nothing) and seems hungry given it's eagerness for blueberries within minutes of finding it. And also clearly has a bad leg that is curled under it and it doesn't use(wouldn't be able to keep up whith the parents if left on its own). If anyone can identify and give tips on as to if it may recover let me know. We do have an aviary being built ironically,
but id rather it return to the wild. My pigeons already jealous and it doesn't even like me lol
