This cat is a danger to my family and pets and if my vet bills come in from an absessed leg from this wild cat, my ranch will avoid this cat.
The term AVOID is good for us to understand.

Protection

So, the night attacks by the big Black and White CAT will be a problem.
If a cat comes here to eat and drink, we are fine with that.
But, if a cat attacks and fights my cats and is never under my hand....
And my cats (at home) get injured)

Problem cat, so take advice.
Your cat might be in danger.
.I have one cat with an arm injury from last night fights.

Claim your cat.

Or I will shoot it again.

Thank you kindly,

Spicy

do you think someone here on BYC owns the cat. I am confused by your post.
If it is ferral how can someone own it?

Sorry about your cat

I can understand your concern, but threatening may not be a good idea. I would first try to determine who's the owner. If you make an effort to do so you can't be faulted for trapping it with a Havahart trap, it's usually fairly easy to catch strays with a Havahart trap. (the cost of a Havahart trap would be far below the cost of legal problems) Once captured, you can take it to a humane shelter or call animal control.

Some other thoughts:
Consider contacting the local government for your community for your rights and obligations.
Also consider the possible government inspection of your property that might develop from any action you might take.

Good luck.
