Wild ducks beginner

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
You've got a great situation there. You get to commune with nature on the search for your friends, the ducks are all wild living their lives the way they want and you still get to feed them and spend time with them which is the most rewarding part of keeping poultry.

Welcome to Backyard Chickens. We had Mallards come to visit some years ago, a hen and two drakes. The hen banged at our door till I opened it and gave them a bowl of water and some pieces of bread (had no idea what to give ducks). She must have learned that demanding behavior from someone else feeding them. She would also fly up on our outside picture window sill and check out our living room.

I bet your right. Be sure to share pics of all the beauty your seeing. We have a mountain river down below us that attract wild ducks but they only pass through they don't stay around. We do have a pair of Canada geese that use a small island to brood and hatch their goslings every year. Nothing sweeter:love
