"Well, as you may know, Thistle has stepped way over his place and failed to do his part. He left and is long gone, I believe." Hans said. "But, I've known you and you seem like the kind of buffalo who will respect the leader, do what he can for the herd, not back out, and be satisfied with the place in the herd I'll give you." Hans said. "Would you like me to continue with what I'm about to say?" He asked.

Storm sat quietly and nodded. "Thistle had not right to disrespect you like that." He exclaimed, still furious from the event. He calmed himself and looked back at Hans, patiently.

He nodded slightly and smiled. "You are a respectful buffalo. You'll do well." He said. "But, anyway, I wanted to offer you the job of being a higher ranked male. You will not be the leader, but you will have more respect." He said. "As long as you don't go over bounderies, you may even keep the herd going once I'm, well, gone. But that's a long time away." He said.

"Of course. I'm honored." Storm said steadily. "I will do my best to serve you as well as this herd." He added.

"Good, I was hoping you'd accept my offer." Hans said. "I bet you'll do your job well." He added. "Well, everything I had to say is said and done." Hans said and grinned.
