Eliza was surprised. Not a lot of stallions who have tried to woo her showed this much affection.
Zachorzy gave Eliza's neck a playful nip then lowered his head. He didn't move away, but neither did he hurry along his courtship. This was his first try, and he wanted to get it right.

Eliza stood there, unsure of what to do. She stared at the mountain in front of her. It's snow capped peak touched the sky, and it's base was surrounded by tall trees. Go, child, it seemed to say, find your calling.

"I will be honest," when Zachorzy spoke, his voice was low, soft. "At first, yes, I did just want to pass on my genes, but understand it from my view. You've had a mate, you have a foal. I have...nothing." The bay stud looked at Eliza. "I feel something...different now."

She shook her head. "Soon, I won't have a foal. She'll probably be mated to Outlaw soon. I'd... I'd like another. And... I'd want you to be the sire of it."

"I don't have much of a herd, either. It'd just be you and me," Zachorzy continued, letting Eliza know what she'd be getting if she came with him. "And you've seen how I have mood swings."

Through blathering, the stallion stayed quiet, waiting. If Eliza accepted him now, he would gladly sire her next foal.

"If you truly care about me, I wouldn't care about those things."

Dezi quietly watched them. She didn't like the idea of her mother with a stallion. She wasn't quite sure about a new foal either.
"I do care. I'm new at this, but I do care." Zachorzy was about to nuzzle Eliza's neck; then he spotted Dezi again and snorted. With an annoyed sigh, he turned away. "I'd like it if you'd come with me."

He took a few steps, dropped his head and nipped at some dead grass. Eliza's filly was watching them, and he wouldn't bother trying to mate the mare until the filly was elsewhere.
