Zachorzy watched Eliza's reaction, and he was inclined to agree. From what he'd seen back there, they were nuts, but then, he had his moments, too.

"They're horrible! That little filly of mine is so dependent! Why can't she understand that I love her, but I'm not going to stay with her all her life!"
Zachorzy didn't have an immediate comment. Speechless, he simply offered a listening ear while Eliza vented.
"She's so clingy! I'm not going to have her around with you and me! She needs to have her own life!"
Zachorzy remained at a loss for words. He had no family to speak of, or rather, he had no family until he met Eliza. He didn't know how to respond to the mare's rant. He could only listen and nicker gently, hoping to calm her.
"Zachorzy... Let's go find some good grass and some shelter for the night."
(It's okay.)
"Good idea," Zachorzy agreed with a nod. Thanks to the excitement, he hadn't noticed he'd grown hungry. He brushed against Eliza softly then took the lead.
Eliza quickly brushed past him, taking a lead mare's customary spot at the head.
