Quote: "I would love to hear about yours," the blue roan said.
"A horrible past." she said.Cerulean looked to Sapphire then to Lunar. "You have a remarkable past," she finally said. Remarkable in the sense of how much more interesting it was than her own past.
~~~
Monsoon backed her ears and urged herself onward. Clouds of gritty sand billowed behind the two horses, and the cactus drew nearer.
~~~
Orestes stood knee-deep in a pond, splashing his muzzle playfully in the water. He was still alone, and it didn't surprise him a bit. The bachelor hadn't happened upon another horse since leaving his herd months ago.
"Well, it's still remarkable compared to mine, if in a tragic way," Cerulean said. "I was driven from my herd by my sire, and I wandered alone until I happened upon Star and Moon accepted me into his herd. That's my past.""A horrible past." she said.
~~~
Helio was breathing hard and sweating as he neared it beside Monsoon.
~~~
Aqua was wandering around when she saw the stallion.
Lunar listened but remained silent."Well, it's still remarkable compared to mine, if in a tragic way," Cerulean said. "I was driven from my herd by my sire, and I wandered alone until I happened upon Star and Moon accepted me into his herd. That's my past."
~~~
Monsoon looked ready to collapse. She was unaccustomed to the desert life. Typhoon and herself had come from a much milder plain and ended-up in the desert. Monsoon was currently wishing the desert would get hit with a monsoon at that moment.
~~~
Orestes paused, water dripping from his muzzle. He swiveled an ear and listened. He heard nothing out of the ordinary, but the wind was bringing him a faint scent.
"Well, that's it," Cerulean said, flicking her tail. "There's nothing else to tell, except what you already know."Lunar listened but remained silent.
~~~
Helio stopped when they had reached the cactus, just a centimeter in front of Monsoon. "Good race!" he said.
~~~
Aqua whinnied.
Quote: Sapphire nodded. "That's better than losing a foal," she replied to Cerulean.
Helio gently nuzzled her and laid down too."Well, that's it," Cerulean said, flicking her tail. "There's nothing else to tell, except what you already know."
~~~
Monsoon had slowed to a walk and was dragging her hooves. The Morgan mare went to her knees then onto her side. "You win," she said.
~~~
Orestes froze, his ears pricked forward. Finally, he turned his head and gave an answering whinny.
Lunar nodded in agreement.Sapphire nodded. "That's better than losing a foal," she replied to Cerulean.
