After another minute, the now satisfied foal turned and scratched her itchy head with her hoof.

Cerulean glared at both foals, silently warning them not to wander off alone again. She moved to follow Lunar.

Turquoise, adventurous by nature, wasn't sure how long she could heed her dam's unspoken warning.

Cerulean snorted in dismay. She was a non-racing horse trapped in a herd of race-loving horses. "Not really. How about just a pleasant canter?"

Turquoise was already sneaking off, since Cerulean was away with Lunar.

Turquoise looked back and snorted at her sister. "Don't come with me if you're afraid to get in trouble."

That was the problem with adventurous foals. Reprimands, no matter how many they received, didn't deter them for long.
