Moon tossed his head. Now even my mares have to bite me. Ignoring it, he jumped to his feet and in spite of his many injuries and fatigue galloped westward where he had last seen his daughter.
Cerulean stared after Moon, hoping beyond hope that he found Chocolate alive. Turning back to Turquoise, she caressed the foal's bitten neck, nickering encouragement for her to pull through.

The Morgan twins, together with their foals, were trekking across the desert. Neither one had been born in a desert, and they'd told Helio, they'd only been traveling through when they'd met him.

"I can't take the heat or the sand anymore," Monsoon grumbled.

"I'm not crazy about the lack of lush green grass," Typhoon piped in.
