Cerulean moved to nudge her surviving foal gently. "Get up," she pleaded almost inaudibly. "Please, you can't both die."

Chocolate grunted. "I....My side...." she tried to get up but her side had a cramp in it.

Copper smiled craftily. His secret weapon was his voice. "I know how to get rid of him. And you get ALL the mares!" Copper said.

Orestes' eyes narrowed, and he regarded the other stallion with deep suspicion. A surge of pain hit him now that his mind wasn't focused on fighting. Biting it back, he tossed his head, snorting derisively. "Why would a stallion help another stallion get mares?"
