Frost was resting under the shade of a tree. She awoke with a jolt when she heard her mother whinny loudly,"Frost run!!!" Frost jumped up to see a cougar leaping at her mother. Out of pure terror, Frost bolted and didn't stop until a sharp cry broke out. She realized it was her mother and a dark thought crossed her mind that her mother was dead and called out quietly,"Mother?" She didn't hear a response after a few more attempts and tears began to pour from her eyes. The white filly didn't know what to do and felt completely helpless.

Lana galloped up to the injured mare. She bent her head over towards her.Summer had chased the cougar away but collapsed on the ground. She could feel herself become cold and had a feeling she would never see Frost again.
Frost paced around with confusion. She wanted to go back to see if her mother was still possibly alive, but the thought of the cougar kept her at bay.
