This is a contest for the best "wild" chicken or other fowl photo.

Please read these essential rules:

1. There cannot be any manmade objects in the photo.
2. It must show a bit of the bird's "wild side". Feel Free to be creative as you want!
3. Three entries per person, please.
4. Do not sulk if you don't win.

What the wild side is: Raised her own chicks with no interference (very successfully)
Additional info: Loves to dust bath, never bites except when broody, lays very well and consistently, is loud and hates being trapped

Whistler's was the only egg that hatched (it had got cold here while Matilda was sitting), but Matilda and her partner, Marvin, have been very good parents to little Whistler.
