I'm thinking about getting some wild eastern turkeys from Murray mcmurray I wondering if I could free range them with my jersey buff and palm turkeys or would they leave for the wild.

A `Wild' Eastern poult is being hatched out and brooded by a `Wild' Eastern hen, somewhere in the `wild'.

A day old poult, of any variety, that is imprinted on humans and the human's `native range' (where the food and roosts are) is a domestic. In the case of a Eastern so raised? A domestic Eastern. There are individual, domestic turks, of all varieties, that will exhibit more `wanderlust' than others but, the majority will hew to what they know.. Some members have Rios/Easterns/probably a few illicit Merriam's, that don't wander off.

If you're out in the boonies, putting up no hunting signs might be a good idea (or spray paint them with something bright orange during turkey season).
