Wild turkeys come through my yard regularly.
They come up close to the kitchen door.
The 6 new adults for this spring (2012), have a 'friend'
with them (bird #7). It is an adult with a
peacock head, including the top head feathers - crest?,
shiny iridescent blue/green thin, long neck and the rest is
the turkey body. There is a patch of white and darker
feathers at the top part of the wing. It moves and feeds like its turkey companions.
I will try and capture a few photos when they come through again.
This seems to dispute some other info I have read where they will mate but
no eggs will be produced.
