Wildfire smoke - should I be concerned?

Wildfire season has begun in Colorado already, and for the last day or so the smoke has been bad, along with the heat. I found helpful threads on how to manage heat for the chickens but nothing on whether I should be concerned about the smoke. I assume that like many other wilder birds their respiratory systems are a little delicate? The coop is well ventilated, anything else I should be thinking of?

And please, send out good wishes for rain and containment - especially the devastating fire northeast of Colorado Springs.

The presence of the smoke is the problem. If the smoke encroaches, a large fan blowing the smoke away from them to shield them would be the key. Even if you had to keep them in the coop in order to provide a ventilated environment, it would be better than the smoke.
