Will a bamtom rooster mate will a bigger hen?

Just today my little bantam d'Uccle roo tried to woo one of my teenage Australorps.

She kinda looked at him like REALLY?!

I think he felt embarrassed and walked away.

My silkie roos live with 4 BA and 4 Speckled Sussex. Every morning is the normal rooster races as they chase the BAs (the girls tire them out, they run faster even though they aren't much bigger.) We just crack up because any time one of the SS squat down, a silkie rooster is racing to get his chance. The SS will squat down low so the little guys can mount. Anyway, the boys in that coop are happy. I am hoping to hatch some crosses that will be broody. I much prefer having mama raise the chicks, it seems that I have had chicks in the garage for ever, maybe only six months, but I want them out. Having a bator isn't really the answer, I still have to brood, and brooding in TX summers is beastly.

I have the same thinking I like not having a bator when you have a broody

I actually like the fact that my girls have the upper hand with our bantam roo. Before this they had a big RIR or NHR that was a bit rough on them. Mr. Bantam has a challange and thats good. Sometimes he has to try, and try again. I bit humbling for him. I enjoy watching the chase around the yard here and there. I have yet to crack an egg open that wasnt fertile so he does well with his 12 girls. And we just had 25 of his eggs hatch into the most beautiful little chicks. It will be interesting to see them grow up, many have his feathered legs and pudgy bearded face.

I have a bantam rooster and standard hens, he does just fine with the big girls. I can't wait to hatch out some chicks

My Bantam Salmon Faverolle lives with three Silver Laced Wyandotte ladies. He is the only rooster that they haven't tried to kill. I've checked 10 eggs and all of them were fertile. I have some in the bator and cannot wait to see what turns out!

So, yes, a bantam will mate with a large fowl.
