Will a broody eat her eggs ?

I have a broody that is settin on 12, er was seetin on 12, now 11, i found a sticky spot in her nest ans when i stuck my fingers in there i came up with a bit o' yolk on my mingies. Could she have broken and then eaten that egg ?
She's been broody 'bout a week and has only been off a time er 3 to git some treats and stretch in the sun. No more than 15-20 minutes at a time. I have anothe hen that keeps acting broody in the other nest box but never goes thru with it. Could she have been the culprit while Goldie was out a eatin and stretchin ?

They don't typically eat their own eggs, unless one became broken by mishap. Then it's a case of waste not want not and keeping the nest clean. It's also possible your other hen broke it when Miss Goldie was off her nest.

Yes they will, but it is usually the result of an accidental breaking of a shell.
