Will a broody hen raise a songbird fledgeling?

The issue with the cat, Sable, is that we can't force her to stay inside. She gets mad and pees on beds and furniture if she doesn't get let out when she wants to be.
@JanetMarie Nobody went off topic. Having a spot for the kitty where she wouldn't hurt anything or get harmed herself and not pee on the bed is perfectly on topic and would save Op future headaches. Not saying threads don't go off the rails, they do. Just not this one.:)

If you can put the chick somewhere safe. It will call its mom. Mom bird will feed and take care of it on the ground they do it all the time. Once the baby can flutter fly Mom will encourage the baby to a safer place (usually a tree branch) and continue to raise the baby. A cage will frighten momma bird. If you want to help keep the cat away for a few days and put the baby in the shade under a bush.

Yes, you're right. That is a problem having a loved pet who kills equally loved wildlife, especially songbirds.

Your chicken will not feed the fledgling catbird. She will expect it to act like a chick and come to her to eat the things she points out. Your fledgling needs the real momma.
Edit to add...glad you put baby back with the mother.
Your cat is simply doing what outdoor cats do. No judgement here.
