Will a goose hide her goslings?

I'm sorry about what you found, that had to have been hard. Glad she is good though.I would dif keep the ones that look dark and air cells are dipped, hope you have some good news this morning you sure could use some after yesterday. Read Pete's guide again in case you feel once the gosling has pipped internally you should make the safe hole. But you want to do it at the right time too. Not too soon or not too late.

How do I know if what is in the eggs is still alive, or if it isn't just a dark blob of bacteria? I still have no hatching eggs from the ones I was able to save. I'm coming to he conclusion that None of them are good and need to be disposed of. :(

On another note - will m geese breed more and lay more eggs if they don't have any chicks, or are the done for the season?

this is how the air cell should look if time to hatch and you other question about will they lay if the first eggs don't hatch, well I am waiting to find that out now since last week I took all the fake eggs out of my gooses nest she is now mating again so we'll see if more eggs come.

You could put a safe hole carefully in the air cell

There is one or two that the air cell has dipped in. The others are dark but without the dipping in the air cell. I threw one that was VERY sloshy and another had cracked down the sides. I was excited that it was hatching, even though it was not a pip or a zip (it cracked down the sides instead of around the air cell.) So I candled and it was just dark, so I peaked into one of the cracks and it was just a dark blob of smelly goo. There are one or two that has a huge dark bunch in it but doesn't slosh and when I candle them the air cell isn't dipped. I want to keep waiting and hoping that there will be at least one that hatches, but I've got a little cloud of doom hanging over me about it.

I don't know if I should ever let that goose keep eggs again. I still love her. She's still a strong healthy and loving goose. And never resented me for stealing her nest. So I'm keeping her a member of my flock. If she does lay more eggs, I'll just take them. I'm too afraid to let her have more.

I really don't know what to tell you. How many days now? those the air cells have dipped in maybe worth keeping the others I'm not experienced enough to say. First time goose mamas don't away know what to do, she maybe a totally different goose next time. happened here with one of my Muscovy's
