I have 4 ducks. Last week I hatched 5 of their offspring in my incubator. I’ve been brooding them in the house but wanting to move them outside to the barn with their lamp. I’m in Canada so it’s cold right now and thought, I wonder if my hen would adopt them. She isn’t completely broody but you can tell she has a motherly instinct. She sits on her laid egg half the day (I always collect them). Would this be possible? Has anyone ever done this? They would obviously be separated from the other 3

Hen like chicken hen or duck hen? rarely will a duck hen adopt ducklings even her own if she didn't hatch them. A broody hen may if she has been brooding long enough. If you tried you best stick close by in case she attacks them.

Yeah duck hen .. ok thank you. I tried this afternoon. She didn’t hurt them but she didn’t seem interested in keeping them with her. They liked to follow her around though.
