We have two tiny serama bantam hens.
They sleep in a big dog cage in the house and spend most of the day out in the run. We are hopefully rescuing a kitten, so want to know how to stop it harassing them.

They are pretty feisty, and I don't think they would hesitate to peck him/her. And they were here first! This is their home and I think they'd defend it.

Having said that, we don't want them to feel stressed as they are show quality and our special pets.

Any advice?

You could put them together and don’t let the kitten go too close so the kitten might get used to them. Or have the kitten look at them through the cage. I’m not sure of any other way

They are natural born rivals, but if you have the time and the patience, you can teach them to get along.
