Will a Lowmann classic white go broody?

I have 2 Lohmann white with 13 eggs between them. The Rooster is (Chinese Silkie/ Sussex cross) I was told by a fairly knowledgeable farmer here in the Philippines that I will need to incubate the eggs as the Lohmann Hen will not sit on the eggs. Is this information correct? On a pleasant note my Silkie cross Hen that mated also with the Silkie cross Rooster laid 12 eggs and 8 hatched so I am very pleased that I am officially a breeder now even though small scale. Cheers out to all and yes... the Chicks are as cute as a button.
