Will a rooster breed a hen without knowing her or will he hurt her??

I have 2 hens and wanting to breed one. I have a friend with a same breed rooster.
Can i take her over and let them breed or do they need more time to get to know
each other????? She is very receptive at this point???


Any comments or suggestions???

Chickens are not like dogs. They need to establish an order in their lives. Putting them together like that is taking a huge risk since he could just as easily kill her as mate with her. She would be a stranger in his flock...

Why not just get some fertilized eggs from your friend?
