Will a rooster learn to crow first or mate

I have a copper maran rooster about 3 months old and I just saw him mating but never heard him crow. What comes first crowing or mating? Just curious

It depends on the individual; some will begin to crow first, others mate. If you have another rooster that does crow, it can keep the younger cockerel from acting mature until a bit later.
