Will an unfrizzled frizzle roo give a frizzle gene to his offspring?

Ok that's kind of what I thought! That since he doesn't have a dominant frizzle gene how can his offspring have one? Okay thank you to all of you.

You have helped a bunch and I understand genetics more.

And that is interesting whoever said that half the offspring will have silkie feathering if I have him in with my silkies. Can't wait to hatch some of these babies!!!

There are a sizzle eggs in my incubator. Since they are a combination of one frizzle and a silkie will there be only one frizzel gene per bird ? Does this apply to both sexes? Is the dominate frizzel gene carried by either sex ?

Quote:
Frizzling is not sex-linked, so whether a bird is frizzled or not has no bearing on gender. The frizzle will supply F to half its offspring, and f to the other half. The silkie will supply f to all its offspring. Those who inherit Ff will be frizzled; those who inherit ff will not.
