Will Brood Hen Adopt Chick?

Hello, I have a hen that went broody but only hatched one chick. In the meantime I thought I should incubate some so she could have more. I took a couple eggs and hatched one chick. By the time the chick was hatched the other chick was a couple weeks old. I thought I would just try and plunk the chick in front of the mother but she pecked at it and tried to attack it. Is it too late for her to adopt the chick? If not what can I do? Thanks!

Some hens will take extra chicks but they need to be added when her own hatch or within a day after, you are too late.
