Will broody stay?

So i have a silkie that has been broody for just over a month and my mother put an egg under her yesterday to see if she will hatch it, i know it all depends on the chicken itself as of how long she will stay broody, so what i was wondering is if anyone has had any experience with them going for long periods of time and if so how long?

One of my game hens was broody for two months. She wouldn't get up until I let her hatch some guinea chicks.
