Will caponizing stop mounting behavior?

Thats what I was worried about. I dont want to cause him undo pain and I would feel terrible if he passed away during surgery. If it wont stop mounting I wont do it. We have a pen we could put him in but he'd be alone. Not much quality of life for him like that. I'm still trying to rehome him. Just needed to see if this was an option. Now I see that it is not šŸ˜•
Why not get him a few girls of his own and have 2 flocks?

I have a problem. I have 2 roosters that I love...and only room for one. One is a barred rock and the other is a black sex link. I'm still trying to rehome him but if I cant I was wondering about caponizing him. Will that stop him from wanting to mount my hens? I know it will make it so he can't breed...but will it stop the mounting? I'm familiar with the procedure but I'm not sure how best to sedate him. Any and all advice is appreciated.
Oh I have the same problem but with 4!!

Then you'll need to get more hens, rehome the extra males or eat the extra males
Actually found out I have 5 cockerels but I LOVE them all. So Rocci gets to be with the girls and the 4 boys get to be the Kaltasin Krew! I'm currently no longer eating chicken as I've come to realize they are now pets and not meat machines. They also produce pink, blue-green and khaki eggs; save each other from getting into trouble when they free range and pick long blades of grass from each others beaks when then realize they can't swallow it all! My birds all have different personalities and I'm pretty shaken up after one of my girls died from egg-yolk peritonitis while enroute to the vet😪

Thanks all for your advice!
