About a week ago I hatched a lone silkie egg. Well my silkie hen just recently hatched herself 4 new little babies. These babies are brand new. They haven't even left the nest yet. If I put my week old baby under this mom with the other little babies will the older chick take to her?

It's hard to say, some will accept chicks that aren't theirs. But if she doesn't accept it, she'll most likely kill it.

Chickens can be really nasty to chicks.

I gave my broody banty 4 new chicks from the feed store and she accepted them immediately, but I stood by for awhile to make sure she was comfortable and didn't suddenly decide to boot the chicks out. I've heard if you wait til dark and place a new one under the mama she won't know the difference, but I did mine during the day, so you might try both ways if one doesn't work. Good luck to that little lone chick :-)

As others have noted, it's the hen accepting the chick that you'll need to worry about, not the chick accepting the hen. The chick will probably be delighted!
