Will chickens destroy banana plants?

planning on extending my run and it might go around my young banana plants. Will Chickens destroy them? The run is very large and is covered in grass and bamboo down one side.

If they have no other greens to eat, they probably will. I had my flock free range in my MIL's garden some years ago and she had some young banana plants there. They nearly destroyed the plants, in spite of me giving them greens to eat daily. I'd put something around the plants to keep the chickens away from them, just in case.

I couldn't even imagine a Banana growing here in Alberta Canada...
