will chickens go into their coop if it starts raining on them?

Welcome. Well is it reported that chickens love the rain.

Oh, they like the shower for their skin. They like it so they can cool down in the summer. They like it because they seem to know that predators are uninterested in them when it rains.

Most of all they like the bugs and worms that come up from the ground.

I can not keep my chickies in the barn to save them when it rains.

Mine seem to like rain and mud. And I think they just look pitiful all soggy and muddy. Maybe they think it's a "spa" day with those fancy mud bathes.

I almost think my 10 week olds prefer it. I couldn't get them back in for the night at their usual time they go in. I think they are finding a surplus of worms.

Mine love the rain. If it starts to really pour they find shelter wherever they happen to be. We had a couple ice storms this past winter and they played in those too.

Of my 9, two or three will stay out in light to medium rain. When it rains hard they go in the coop.

It rainned earlier this week and I was at work all worried whether my chooks would go into their coop as I don't think they have experience rain before. When I got home they were outside squawking their heads off at me. So I put them inside. Hope they know what to do next time.
