will chicks get harmed by black ants?

i just got new chicks and we havent put them in a box yet so their still in the nesting box with their mom but theres ants in the nesting box...
 
They won’t harm the chickens but they can really bother them, eat their food, and get into their water.
To get rid of them you can buy a bottle of peppermint oil and sprinkle it on, around, and in you coop. It will drive the ants away and make your coop smell better. The chickens won’t be able to tell any difference except for a pest free home.
