Hi,
Like the title says, will coturnix quail eat or otherwise harm planted veggies ( both plants and the actual fruits) or will they live peacefully with the plants and scratch along the ground and help with insect control?
I have an old covered pen that i haven't used for birds in a couple years and I decided today that I want to plant a few rows of squash in it and I've already been planning on getting some quail and I was wondering if I could co-crop squash and quail in this same pen? As I said its covered with netting so they can't get out, I would just have to fix up the sheltered area for them.
Im doubting they will hurt the squash since its a tough plant, but I may end up doing an heirloom garden in this same pen in the spring, so will they bother things like tomatoes, peppers, carrots, cabbage, and lettuce ?
Thanks in advance.
