I hatched my first blue laced red and black laced red wyandotte which are now 5 weeks old and wondering if there feathers will grow more colorful and distinct with age. Right now they don't look so great, a bit dull. I would post some pictures but the site says I don't have permission to do so. If someone can tell me how to post pics I will.
I could also use some help sexing them.

Can someone help me determine the sex of these two 5 week olds please?

they should clean up a bit as they get the adult feathers
Can you tell if they're hens or cockerels?
I was just looking at the feathers around the muff of the black one and noticed that the color is just a line of red on the vein of the feather, and wondered if the color grows out from the middle of their feathers over time. Do you think their color will fill in?
