Will feathers ever grow back?

I've written on here before about one chick that got "scalped" when she was about 4 days old. That was about 2-3 wks. ago. Its head is healing and I tried putting her back with her Mom & 2 siblings, but Mom went after her. I tried with another family, same thing.

She is alone in the house with a heat lamp and eating, drinking, pooping fine. I'm wondering if her feathers will ever grow back since the feathers and skin under them was evidently torn off. (Never figured out how.)

I'm thinking that if they don't, and even if they do, I may never be able to put her in with everyone else. What are your thoughts on this?

I'd make her an indoor chicken, but my husband says, "NO WAY!"

Tell your DEAR husband that he can't watch football or baseball or whatever until Baldy can stick around the house.

That is exactly what I will probably do. But I know the chick would be happier with other chickens. I also worry because of our many dogs and cats. But we'll see.

Anyone know if the feathers will grow back?
