Will geese mate with chickens?

I recently got a beautiful pair of buff geese (boy and girl). The boy is currently 'dancing' for the female - flapping his wings and squawking. Very cute. They are currently in with the chickens. If the female starts laying (which I'm told happens in the fall), would her eggs be pure goose or would they be part chicken? LOL Is it possible for a roo to mate her? I really don't want to hatch unless they're pure goose!

I don't think you have anything to worry about...

Great, I think I'm safe then, because the pair I bought from a friend are the absolute sweetest pair ever! They run from the chickens

They aren't lovey dovey, but will let me catch and pet them if I fill up their pool. They talk to me - no, it's more like lecture me if I feed the chickens without filling up their pool. Silly babies.

Geese can't breed with chickens, but ganders can get really testy when their goose is setting on eggs, so I might try to keep the chickens away for their safety. Ganders have been known to attack and maim/kill smaller birds during breeding season.

Good luck.
