Will guinea's attack chickens?

My chickens are always in their yard with the exception of one that will fly out occasionally.

The chicken was out this morning (wing trimmed again). She didn't appear hurt but there was a bunch of fluff and a few longer feathers up against the chicken yard fence (the outside of fence). Usually when she gets out she'll run around the outside of the chicken yard but this morning she was near the house.

The neighbors guinea's were near the chicken yard looking for grasshoppers which is normal. I don't mind them at all.

But then I started wondering....would the guinea's attack the chicken thinking it an intruder? Is that why she wasn't running around the outside of the fence because the guinea's who were there attacked her?

I have watched them some. They don't pay them any mind but if one was in their territory....maybe?

It could have been a neighbors cat or something that didn't have very good kill skills...neighbor also has two 3 month old puppies...

The facts that the chicken is a young female makes it very doubtful that the guineas would attack her. Also, they aren`t strangers if the guineas are used to being in your yard. No doubt something is amiss, though. Like PineBurrowPeeps said, anything is possible.......Pop

If your chicken came into my yard, the guineas would definitely attack it.
They put all new chickens through the ringer... even when there are 12 new chickens added at once.

Pretty much every new chicken (plus the old roosters, when they get too fresh) gets chased around the yard with my guinea cock's beak firmly attached to its tailfeathers for a solid minute or two. I swear, Mo, my White Leghorn rooster, hid from the guinea for days... he's the top rooster but BOY was he sulky after getting the guinea tailfeather treatment... not sure his ego will ever be the same.

My guineas are VERY territorial. One of my gals went after a raccoon once, and lived to tell the tale.

My 3 month old guineas stalked my chick brooder like vultures when I put them out on the grass, lurking on the top and prowling around the sides. I think they would eat them given the chance (and these were 3 wk. old chicks, not tiny!)

Guineas are pretty aggressive toward my chickens-- chasing them from food and yanking out feathers if they can get them.

Actually they only like one of the blackstars and leave her alone. Wonder if I can hatch out a Guinhen? lol

I'm going to say it was the evil guineas...

The only thing they won't chase here is the 50lb Turkey that I got this past weekend....

Yes, they will. It's why I had to rehome four very tame guineas. They fixated on only my RIR hens and my BR rooster. Nothing we did fixed the problem till they found a new home. Miss those silly things still after all this time.
