One option you may have is a good guard dog. They won't help much against hawks since hawks will ambush a chicken from the air, but they will help with the other preditors. I've only lost young chickens to hawks though. Ones that they could carry off. I've had chickens for years and the only time I had any problems with coyotes was last fall when my husband took her to hunting camp. Coons, possums, etc. don't stand a chance cause the dog keeps them away. However, if the chickens roam too far out in the woods they are fair game. This year I'm getting some guineas primarily for bug control, but it they can help keep the rest of the flock safe as well, all the better.
