Hello

I have 2 roosters one of them is young only a teenager

The young rooster comes from a horrible line of man fighting mean savage roosters

But the dom older rooster i have is a gentle sweetheart

Will the dom rooster prevent the younger roosters meaness from comming out by keeping himself alpha?

i doubt it ,,, but i also doubt that being mean is genetics ,, you may have a sweeter 1 then ya got now,, but if he's mean, he'll just assert himself on the other 1 to establish that he's bigger ,,, which they ALL do anyways,, there is always a pecking order,, and they will always establish that.

I would guess which ever rooster has the most attitude will take over. You see it a lot in social animals. As the younger ones grow up and reach maturity the whole group has to redo their pecking order to match the personality of the youngsters. Sometimes the animal that has been dominant for most of it's life can end up dropping to the bottom before everything is sorted out.
