Will hen lay any eggs when she is raising her chicks ?

I'm new at this, hopefully this is not a silly question. I have a chicken that was brooding and I put some fertile eggs under her, some hatched, now she is looking after them.
She hasn't laid anymore eggs, I assuming it's because of raising her chicks ?
Don't know what type of breed she is , if any I think a mix. I'm going to try to get a picture of her to post see if any body can identify her.

She will not lay, untill she is sure her babies will make it on thier own. Could be 7 or 8 weeks! Hope you are not depending on those eggs! LOL

My hen's chicks are six weeks old and she just started laying two days ago. Could be five to eight weeks or so.
