Most Chickens, especially roosters, are like tiny Irish midgets with feathers that just got back home from the pub. They have the urge to fight something no matter how big, small or helpless it is.

I don't have roosters - just five hens.

I know. But I'm in a no win situation. If I move pidgie, I get told mom'll abandon the nest. If I leave her, the hens kill the baby. If I keep the hens out of the henhouse, even in an enclosed coop, all my hens will be killed.

At this point I'm watching for peeps and will move the dove as soon as I can and before the hens get into the henhouse with her. I may lose the race. She may abandon the squab after I move both of them.
