I have finally started getting eggs, they started last week. This morning I had one on the ground inside the chicken tractor. It was kind of far in there and I would have had to crawl to get it so I left it for a little while. I came back a few hours later and it was not there anymore. No broken pieces, nothing. So I opened the top section and there was an egg that wasn't there earlier. ....... So, either one of them some how carried it up the ramp and put it up there or the other egg vanished and one of them layed another egg. So, will/can a chicken pick up an egg and move it?

Not possible for a chicken to move an egg that far and up hill,. Only movement of eggs by chickens was in their nest to place them more under self. Maybe someone is SMOKIN YOU ...... A practical joke played on you maybe by your loved ones or friends. This is something I would pull off if given the chance.

I hear ya. The thing is, you would have had to crawl on your hands and knees where they have been pooping the last couple of days to get it. Unless you picked this thing up from the side and its heavy. No one has been to my house and i know my wife didnt do it. They had moved it on the ground once, about 3-4 ft from where i had first saw it. Then when i figured id get the side up far enough to reach in from the side, it was gone. Opened up the top section an an egg was there, similar to the one on the ground. And to lift up the side, you have to get a 2x4 under it, pry it up, hood it with another 2x4 and reach in, then get the wood out from under it. Your not going to pick it up and reach in. Crazy. Only one person i know that might would have went thru all that is out of town.

Well then here is an IDEA. When you get an egg, in your coop. take it out and mark it and place close to entrance. The rest is FUNDAMENTAL as SHERLOCK WOULD SAY..

Yeah, I may do that. Im not crazy, I know theres no way for them to pick it up. I just have no idea where that egge went

Yeah, I dunno. They are getting moved to their permanent pen this week and I will be able to get in easier. They weren't going to be in this tractor as long as they have been. Work and life get in the way of my wanna be farmer plans
