Will hens sit on eggs that you touched?

A week ago I put some eggs I put some eggs in a nest and no hen sat on them. Why?

The chicken has to decide if they want to go Broody. But if one does decide to sit on the nest, it is OK for you to touch the eggs. They will still sit on them. I have taken them and candled them and then returned them to her with no problem.
