Will I survive raising my 3 year old? Pics included

I woke up this morning to find my son in my bed and automatically knew he was into something last night. I opened my door and followed the little white foot prints

I found that they went all over the house, past the bathroom, where the hot water had been running for hours, through the living room

and on my new rug. I then made my way to the kitchen to find this

Things like this happen constantly here, we tried locking him in his room at night but then he wets the bed

What do you do for a kid that's active at night?

Don't let him sleep during the day!!

One of my 2 year old granddaughters sleeps from about 10 till midnight and then wakes up...ready for her day to begin. She's driving her folks nuts!!

Oh that's a smart one you got there!!! There is no better dirt to play with your dumptrucks in than flour!

Maybe it's time to stop putting him down for naps if he's still getting them.

Actually I think this is precious and whatever you do, save those pictures! They're worth a thousand words.

stay up with him is my only answer although very cute (allbeit a huge mess) it is also very dangerous. Maybe try co-sleeping? My ds is 3 1/2 and it is amazing how little time it takes him to get into stuff. But overnight is a lot of time, not the normal 20 minutes while looking at byc or get the laundry.

My DS did the same thing .. I finally had to get really good childlocks and put them on everyting I didnt want him into oh yeah and look the chairs, stolls, etc ( anything he could climb on ) into one room at night and lock that door too.. Arent Kids fun hehe

You could hang a bell around his ankle....that way you know when he gets up.

We had to take away the naps along time ago

He's usually getting himself in trouble between 2 and 5 in the morning

Just think of how creative that was...he wanted to play trucks, and he needed dirt, that was the closest thing! I know how you feel, I have four year old twins and the three year old age is definitely harder than two...it should be the terrible threes, not terrible twos-you'll make it though!

Another thought, don't know how good he is at door knobs, but we use the childproofing door handle covers on the inside of their bedroom door. Our kids have just now figured out how to get them off...
