Will it work for a pond?

My aunt asked me today if I could help my uncle tear their old above ground pool down. They dont use it anymore and the liner has a small rip in it from ice this year.

Think the liner would make a good pond.. Obviously I dont want at a 24 foot by 4 foot deep pond. I think I would be able to cut the liner down and build a somewhat decent pond.

I think with the amount of liner I am getting I could almost triple it up. I was only planning a pond about 5 feet across couple feet deep, sloped sides to make it easy for them to get in and out.

We made a koi pond out of an old pool liner. It worked really well. I say "go for it!"

The sides of my pond are kind of steep (it is a plastic formed liner). My ducks have no trouble getting out. The more sloped you make the sides, the more chance the little duck toe nails could tear it up. Just something to keep in mind.
